OUR HISTORY

Habitat for Humanity International was founded in 1976 by Millard and Linda Fuller. The concept of Habitat for Humanity is that each Habitat Affiliate and those in need of adequate shelter would work side-by-side with volunteers to build simple, decent homes. Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough County became an Affiliate in 1987. Since then, we have built over 118 homes in Hillsborough County.

OUR MISSION

Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough County is a volunteer nonprofit, faith-based organization dedicated to providing decent, affordable housing in partnership with the community and deserving families in Hillsborough County.

OUR GOAL

The ultimate goal of Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough County is to eliminate substandard and poverty housing and homelessness from Hillsborough County.  We build homes...build lives...and build hope.  Futhermore, all our words and actions are for the ultimate purpose of putting shelter on the hearts and minds of people in such a powerful way that poverty housing and homelessness become socially, politically and religiously unacceptable in our nations and world.
