Publix Sponsors Crist Family Home
Publix Super Markets Charities is partnering with Habitat Hillsborough again in 2012 to build a home. Volunteers from Publix Super Markets and the community joined Tina Crist Saturday, January 14, to begin construction on her home.
Tina found out about the Habitat Hillsborough affordable housing program through her employer, Home Shopping Network. She is looking forward to buildin g a future for her daughters, Chloe and Jasmine. "My children will have a place to call their own," said Tina. "The future is yours, and the possibilities are endless. I will take this American Dream...and thank Jehovah God for this blessing."

Wells Fargo Grants $100,000 to Habitat Hillsborough Funds to help revitalize local neighborhoods
On December 9, 2011 Habitat Hillsborough formally announced that it received a grant for $100,000.00 from Wells Fargo & Company. The Habitat for Humanity ReStore is one of Tampa’s “best keep secrets”. But we’re eager to spread the word! The store offers a wide variety of new and used building materials, appliances, cabinets, paint, furniture and more – at deeply discounted prices. All proceeds from our ReStore benefit the community and help us build more affordable houses for deserving families across the Bay area. We rely on generous donations from local businesses and individuals to keep the store stocked. Whether you are remodeling your kitchen and looking to donate cabinets or repainting a room and in search of a great deal on supplies – the ReStore is a “one stop” shop. Store hours are Monday-Saturday, 9am to 5pm. Donations are also needed.

 What is a Crew Leader?
Habitat Hillsborough Crew Leaders are special people. They are volunteers who are truly dedicated to the mission of Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough County Florida, Inc. Our Certified Crew Leaders are trained in Habitat construction processes because they are responsible, on any given build day, for the completion and quality of specific construction tasks. Our Crew Leader Trainer, Dick Gage, makes sure they know what they are doing.
Habitat Hillsborough builds homes, but we do it through the hands and hearts of volunteers. Some volunteers are highly skilled in construction. Others are not. They may have little or no construction experience. Habitat Hillsborough Crew Leaders must ensure that our volunteers have a great Habitat experience. They must also be able to teach unskilled volunteers how to accomplish the tasks needed to build homes that will not only meet all building code requirements, but will provide a solid foundation for our partner families. Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough County Florida, Inc., in partnership with God, mobilizes people to help neighbors by renovating and building homes, thereby improving and transforming families and communities.

At Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough County Florida, Inc., our focus is on showing the love of God to first-time homebuyers and families in Hillsborough County by giving them a hand up, not a hand out. Habitat homebuyers must donate 300 "Sweat Equity" hours, be able to assist with closing costs, and make monthly mortgage payments. Habitat homes are sold to our homeowners at no profit with a no-interest mortgage.
We invite donors and volunteers from all walks of life to come together with our future homeowners to build relationships and to realize dreams.
Together we BUILD HOMES...BUILD LIVES...BUILD HOPE.
